He was one of the first people in the UK to receive the Masters degree in Intellectual Property Litigation. Career to date Dave joined our Leamington Spa office in 1991, qualifying in 1997 and gaining his Patent Agent Litigator Certificate in 2003. He is based in our Midlands office. Personal Skills Dave’s enthusiasm and in-depth technical knowledge are supported by his academic achievements in the field of IP law. Sector experience Automotive, including exhaust and emissions technology and occupant safety systems; high performance motorsport; brakes and clutches; packaging technology and agricultural engineering. Client experience Dave works for a number of clients in the automotive, packaging and agricultural fields including Alcon Components, Euro Packaging and Simba International. Notable successes One of Dave’s most notable achievements was securing a rare and substantial cost award at the European Patent Office on behalf of his client, one of the biggest ever granted by that tribunal. Dave ran the successful appeal at the Court of Appeal in Vector Corporation vs. Glatt Air Techniques, Inc., believed to be the first successful Court of Appeal case by a Patent Attorney Litigator on appeal from the High Court. On a Personal Note... When work, time and weather permits Dave enjoys flying paragliders. He has flown in the UK, Austria, Cyprus and Morocco. He hopes to fly more in the Alps, Turkey and even Brazil. When not searching for thermals he enjoys cooking which he does quite well and playing Texas Hold'em which he does less well. |
