David ElsyBSc, PhD, CPA, EPAPartnerHigher Education David has a Biological Science degree and doctorate from the University of Leicester. Career to date David joined Withers & Rogers in 1994 from the UK Patent Office where he was a Patent Examiner. He became a Partner in 2002. Personal Skills David is actively involved in the promotion of IP, speaking at many conferences both for universities and business development organisations. He enjoys advising clients on the commercial value of IP and is actively involved with university ‘spin-out’ companies. David enjoys keeping up to date with US and other overseas patent practices through attending conferences such as BIO and AIPLA. Sector Experience David specialises in the fields of recombinant DNA technology, molecular biology, drug discovery, microbial and plant biotechnology and healthcare products. David also has substantial experience in the sector of polymer chemistry. David has extensive experience in oppositions, including success in lengthy EPO hearings lasting several days. Client Experience David enjoys a wide portfolio from numerous universities and established pharmaceutical companies to business start-ups and drug discovery clients. On a personal note... David enjoys family life with his two boys. His hobbies include hill walking, swimming and photography. |
