Personal Skills David frequently travels to the Far East to visit clients and has been studying Japanese. He has a good knowledge of both technical and spoken German and French. David is often invited to speak at international IP conferences. Sector Experience David has handled biotechnology and other biomedical patent applications since the late 1970s, as well as applications in the field of conventional chemistry. He has extensive experience and considerable success prosecuting oppositions and appeals at the European Patent Office. David is an active member and an officer of FICPI, the only world-wide association exclusively for IP attorneys in private practice. He has been Chairman of both the biotechnology sub-committee and the European patent law sub-committee and is currently serving his second term as President of the International Legal Commission (CET). Client Experience David handles work from around the world both for British and overseas clients, as well as for overseas attorneys. David’s practice focuses on chemistry.
