Ivor HarrisonMRSC, CChem, CPA, EPA,PartnerHigher Education Ivor studied Chemistry at Salford University resulting in graduate membership of The Royal Society of Chemistry. Career to date Ivor is a Chemist and joined Withers & Rogers in 1986 from the patent department of Johnson Matthey, having previously worked as a laboratory chemist for ICI. He became a Partner in 1987 and is a member of AIPPI. He is based in our Bristol office. Personal Skills Ivor takes an active role in the career development of trainees with Withers & Rogers and lectures on UK patent law at an annual residential revision course for trainee UK patent attorneys. Sector Experience Ivor handles general patent prosecution work and is particularly experienced in applied chemistry, including pharmaceuticals, agro-chemicals, catalysis, surface coatings and paper technology. Ivor has extensive experience of litigation and has obtained many successful results for his clients in the exploitation of Intellectual Property Rights by licensing. Client Experience Ivor works with Futura Medical Developments Ltd on a wide portfolio of patent cases. Other clients include the University of the West of England, Cardiff University and Permaban Ltd., a market leader in concrete floorings. On a personal note... Ivor enjoys walking, both at home and on holiday, and has walked the Inca Trail. If the holiday has a wildlife theme, such as a walking safari, so much the better. Back home, Ivor has recently taken up choral singing and has an expanding second-generation family. |
