Career to dateJohn joined the Firm in 1985 and has been a Partner since 1994. He is based in our Bristol office, and is now the Bristol office Managing Partner. Personal SkillsJohn handles patent prosecution work for industrial and academic biotechnology clients based in the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, United States, Netherlands and Germany. He also does European and British prosecution work for overseas firms of patent attorneys. He specialises in work relating to recombinant DNA technology, nuclear receptors, microbiology and biomedical products. He enjoys EPO Opposition and Appeal work and takes on cases from other fields. He has significant IP due diligence experience and prepares reports for investors, and for Stock Market listing. Client experienceJohn works for a number of clients including Cardiff University, Meda AB, Netherlands Cancer Institute, Karo Bio AB, the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.
