Stuart LathamBEng (Mechatronics)Technical AssistantHigher education Stuart graduated from Staffordshire University in 2003 with a Second Class, First Division Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechatronics. For his dissertation he designed and built an autonomous mobile robot running a behaviour-based architecture control program, which was subsequently used in robotics demonstrations by the university. Career to date He entered the patent profession in February 2005 with another UK firm of Patent and Trademark Attorneys, and joined our Bristol office in March 2008. Stuart part-qualified as a UK Patent Attorney in 2007 and is currently working towards full UK and European qualification. Personal skills Stuart’s academic background and professional training to date have provided him with the necessary skills to understand a broad range of technical subject matter and gain a good appreciation of the varying commercial needs of clients. Additionally, Stuart considers himself to be a confident communicator of complex ideas. Sector Experience Since entering the profession Stuart has gained experience in a range of technologies, primarily in the fields of telecommunications, electronics and mechanical devices. Some specific examples of these include a hybrid fibre wireless system, a vehicle telematics system, various antenna designs, a DSSS Ultra Wide Band communication system and an LED driver circuit. On a personal note... Amongst a range of sporting interests, including playing football, running and hill walking, Stuart enjoys cooking, reading and composing music. |
